NJCG 2009 Student Research Poster Competition
The North Jersey Chromatography Group will be hosting a Student Research Poster Competition throughout the 2009 season. The motivation for this competition is to award scientific expertise involving separation sciences and to expose students to a professional knowledge sharing atmosphere.
Awards:
1st Place: $1,000
2nd Place: Apple® - iPod® nano
Eligibility: Full-time Bachelors, Masters or PhD students in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or Biochemistry at an accredited university in the state of New Jersey.
Research must involve the separation sciences (GC, LC, LC-MS, GC-MS, column technology, etc…) in some way...we are flexible.
Must fill-out the abstract form below, before the posted 'Abstract Deadline' in order to be considered. Prior approval from your research advisor is also required. Abstract can be no longer than 300 words.
Selection Process:
1. Submit an abstract of your research before any 'Abstract Deadline' using the form below.
2. For each meeting (March & April) 3 or 4 semi-finalists will be selected (notified prior to or on the 'Notification' deadline) to present a poster at the corresponding meeting and will be judged by all attendees (no cost for invited attendee and research advisor)
3. Based on the judging of semi-finalists, 2 finalists will be selected to attend our Annual Symposium in May (no cost for invited attendee and research advisor). Where they will receive their awards.
Additional:
Entries can be submitted starting Feb. 1, the early the better...entries will be considered for all 'Abstract Deadlines' that they meet (i.e. if submission is before Feb. 24, entry will be considered for both meetings).
